The Journey of Recycled Glasses
The journey of recycled glasses begins with Lions collecting used eyeglasses from various community locations and events. These glasses are then shipped to the nearest Lions Eyeglass Recycling Center, where trained volunteers meticulously sort, clean, and determine the prescription strength of the glasses. The glasses are carefully packaged and stored until they are needed for dispensing missions. At these mission sites, eye care professionals and dedicated Lion volunteers conduct vision screenings and provide recycled glasses free of charge to those in need, ensuring that no pair goes to waste.
